These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of MDDR, including the MDDR website, newsletter, emails, summaries, links, editorial notes and related content.
By accessing the MDDR website, subscribing to the MDDR newsletter, or reading MDDR content, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use MDDR.
About MDDR
MDDR is an independently operated Australian medical news digest. MDDR summarises and links to third-party medical, health, health-policy, digital-health and med-tech news sources.
MDDR is intended for medical and health professionals, but the website and newsletter may be publicly accessible. MDDR does not verify that all readers are registered health professionals.

Always review the original source, current local guidelines, regulator notices, product information, primary literature and other appropriate sources before relying on any information.
No doctor-patient, clinician-patient, adviser-client or similar professional relationship is created by your use of MDDR.
Summaries and accuracy
MDDR summaries are concise editorial summaries prepared from third-party sources. They may be produced, edited, checked or published using a combination of software tools, automation and human input.
We aim to provide useful, concise and source-linked summaries, but MDDR may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, incomplete context, misinterpretations, broken links, incorrect categorisation, or summaries that do not capture important details from the original source.
Medical, regulatory, scientific and policy information can change quickly. Source articles may be updated, corrected, moved, restricted, paywalled or removed after MDDR links to them.
To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant or represent that MDDR content is accurate, complete, current, suitable for your purpose, clinically appropriate, or error-free.
Third-party sources and links
MDDR links to third-party websites, publishers, journals, regulators, organisations and other sources. Those third-party sources are independent from MDDR.
We are not responsible for third-party content, paywalls, access restrictions, corrections, updates, removals, availability, privacy practices, terms of use, security practices, advertising, sponsorships, or editorial standards.
A link to a third-party source does not mean that MDDR endorses that source, agrees with it, verifies every statement in it, or is affiliated with it.
Copyright, attribution and publisher requests
MDDR summaries are independently prepared. Third-party article titles, publisher names, organisation names, trademarks, logos and linked materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Unless expressly stated, MDDR is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any publisher, journal, regulator, organisation, author, company, sponsor or third-party source that we link to or mention.
We aim to link back to original sources and identify publishers clearly. If you are a publisher, author, rights holder or organisation and you have a correction, attribution request, opt-out request, takedown request or other concern, contact privacy@mddrnewsletter.com.
No part of MDDR may be copied, scraped, reproduced, republished, redistributed, sold, licensed, used to train AI systems, or commercially exploited without our prior written permission, except to the extent permitted by law.
Corrections, complaints, publisher requests and takedowns
We aim to handle concerns promptly and in good faith. If you are a publisher, author, rights holder, reader, clinician, organisation, advertiser, regulator or other affected person and you have a concern about MDDR content, contact privacy@mddrnewsletter.com.
You can contact us about corrections, attribution updates, source-link changes, opt-out requests, takedown requests, copyright concerns, privacy concerns, advertising concerns, safety concerns, factual errors, misleading summaries, broken links, or any other issue relating to MDDR.
To help us assess your request, please include the relevant MDDR email or webpage, the article or summary concerned, the source URL if applicable, your relationship to the content, the issue you want us to review, and the action you are requesting.
We may correct, update, remove, restrict, annotate or decline to change content at our discretion. Where appropriate, we may also contact the relevant publisher or source, update attribution, suppress a source from future summaries, or remove content from future editions.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that MDDR will remove or change content, but we will review reasonable requests in good faith.
Subscriber and user obligations
You agree that you will not:
- misuse MDDR or interfere with its operation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to MDDR systems or data;
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download MDDR content;
- copy, republish, resell or commercially exploit MDDR content without permission;
- use MDDR in a way that infringes copyright, privacy, confidentiality, professional obligations, or other rights;
- submit patient information, clinical records, Medicare numbers, health information or other sensitive personal information to MDDR;
- use MDDR for unlawful, misleading, deceptive, harmful or abusive purposes; or
- represent that MDDR has endorsed you, your organisation, your product or your service unless we have agreed in writing.
Email subscription and unsubscribe
If you subscribe to MDDR, you agree that we may send you the newsletter and related administrative messages.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any MDDR email. We may retain limited information after you unsubscribe where necessary to maintain suppression lists, prevent further emails, manage complaints, maintain deliverability, or comply with legal obligations.
You are responsible for ensuring that the email address you provide is accurate and that you are authorised to use it.
Sponsorship, advertising and editorial independence
MDDR may include sponsorships, advertisements, partnership messages or other commercial content in the future.
Any sponsored content or advertising will be clearly labelled. Sponsored content or advertising does not necessarily constitute endorsement, recommendation, clinical advice, or verification by MDDR.
Sponsors, advertisers and partners do not receive subscriber email addresses from MDDR unless we clearly tell you and obtain any consent required by law.
Advertising or sponsorship relating to medicines, medical devices, diagnostics, digital-health products, therapeutic goods, health services or other regulated products may be subject to additional legal and regulatory requirements. We may refuse, remove or modify advertising or sponsored content at our discretion.
Privacy
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using MDDR, you acknowledge that we may collect, use and disclose personal information as described in that policy.
Availability and changes to MDDR
MDDR is provided on an as-available basis. We may change, suspend, discontinue, restrict or remove any part of MDDR at any time, including newsletter frequency, categories, sources, features, archives and website availability.
We may correct, edit, remove or update MDDR content at any time, but we are not obliged to do so.
Consumer law and non-excludable rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties, representations, guarantees and conditions not expressly stated in these Terms are excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MDDR and its operators, contributors, contractors and service providers are not liable for any loss, damage, cost, expense or liability arising from or in connection with your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance on MDDR.
This includes, without limitation, liability for clinical decisions, patient outcomes, professional decisions, business decisions, regulatory decisions, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of data, loss of opportunity, reputational damage, indirect loss, consequential loss, or loss arising from errors, omissions, outdated information, third-party content, broken links, service interruptions, security incidents or email-delivery failures.
Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify MDDR and its operators against loss, damage, cost, expense or liability arising from your misuse of MDDR, your breach of these Terms, your unlawful reproduction or redistribution of MDDR content, your infringement of third-party rights, or your use of MDDR in connection with clinical, professional, commercial or regulatory decisions.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria, Australia and any courts entitled to hear appeals from those courts.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
Your continued use of MDDR after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
